Whether this is your first year joining in Trackers Earth programs or your family is a long-time participant in the Game of Tracking, our community must know we believe nature connection is an ongoing adventure.
Welcome to Part 4 of what to expect at Trackers this summer. This update introduces the final element in the Game of Tracking: the Trackers Journal. While the Relics are our game pieces for the Game of Tracking, the activity journal is the board.
Tracking is a pursuit that inspires adventure and connection to nature. It can benefit the entire family. Relics are what we call the “game pieces” kids use to engage in the Game of Tracking. They are symbols of the Trackers Code, along with a reminder to practice certain skills that help kids grow.
Trackers Teams is the structure for nearly all our camps—whether a Rangers wilderness survival camp or a Mariners fishing camp. Think of it like a Game of Tracking kids play at camp and a game they can continue playing at home with friends.
In my last camper van blog, Van Life Part 1, I shared why this is such a great way to travel and explore as a family. This blog focuses on where you can go and how to plan some short, easy trips. My husband and I were born in Oregon and although we’ve done a fair amount of traveling around the region, there are many areas neither of us have been to. During this past year, we’ve been working from home, taking our kids to local parks and nearby wilderness areas when we need to escape. But after a year of staying hunkering down, we were ready to expand our range and forge new experiences in the camper van!
