I really value foraging for wild plants and greens. Not only is it a fun way to spend time together as a family, but it\u2019s also a great way to learn about the natural world around us.<\/p><p>My favorite wild spring plants include dandelions, nettles, miners lettuce, and oxalis. These plants are can be easy to find and plentiful. They\u2019re also delicious! It\u2019s important to know how to gather them safely. Here are some essential points:<\/p><ul><li>Do your research. Make sure you can 110% properly identify the plants you\u2019re foraging for. If you\u2019re not sure, don\u2019t eat it!<\/li><li>Always make sure you have permission to forage in the area you\u2019re in.<\/li><li>Only take what you need and leave the rest for other animals and future generations.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t forage in areas that have been sprayed with pesticides or other chemicals.<\/li><\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<section class=\"elementor-section elementor-top-section elementor-element elementor-element-c845e3b elementor-section-boxed elementor-section-height-default elementor-section-height-default\" data-id=\"c845e3b\" data-element_type=\"section\" data-e-type=\"section\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-container elementor-column-gap-default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-100 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-bea4f6a\" data-id=\"bea4f6a\" data-element_type=\"column\" data-e-type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-c5695d6 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"c5695d6\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Here&#8217;s a video about harvesting dandelions and making donuts with my kids. It will be taught by Deb Scrivens, a long-term mentor of mine, and its a great way to learn about wild plants growing in our area and how to identify them.<\/p><p>Everyday I feel very grateful for my own connection to wild plants and foods.
