Our fields are full of bleats, peeps, and wobbly legs. So far, we’ve welcomed 15 lambs (and counting!) from our Soay sheep—a hardy, ancient breed known for its wild spirit. One of those lambs, Sundae, needed a little extra help after her mom had twins and could only nurse one.

Sundae is what’s called a “bummer lamb”—a baby sheep that needs bottle-feeding. That means we feed her every four hours, so Sundae now comes to work with us at Trackers SE. She’s already made herself at home, greeting campers with her soft baa and trotting behind staff like she owns the place. She’s a favorite among kids in our Wilders Farm Camps, who love helping care for her and learning what it means to raise animals with heart.

Beyond the lambs, our chickens and ducks are busy hatching eggs, and even wild baby quail are starting to appear in the hedgerows—little fluff-balls darting through the grass like wind-up toys. We also welcomed two Highland cattle—Angie and Pesto—an ancient Scottish breed. While not newborns, at eight months old they’re still in their goofy cow-tween stage: all fluff and awkwardness. Campers have taken to calling them “woolly kangaroos,” which… well, they do bounce a little when excited.

And of course, our miniature donkeys continue to anchor the farm with their steady presence. Whether it’s lambs leaping, quail chirping, or our new cow friends, spring reminds us why we’re here—to care for the land and to witness the wild joy of life.

See you in the forest,

Molly Deis
Trackers Earth
Founder & Mom

Spring has arrived at Trackers Farm, home to our Wilders Farm Camps, and with it, a wave of baby animals!
